Anatomy Porfolio

This Portfolio reflects the musculoskeletal study I have undertaken as a physiotherapy student at Northumbria University.

The navigation bar in the right hand column allows you to select and pursue a particular area of study.

Basic Anatomical descriptions are divided into 7 sections: Shoulders, Elbow, Wrist, Hand, Hip, Knee and Foot. In each section the skeletal and muscular anatomy is presented, alongside an overview of the superficial anatomy. Detailed Muscular Anatomy is presented as excel files - this allows the reader to arrange the information presented in different ways, and so to obtain a deeper understanding of the material.

Movements of the joints are presented in the active movement video which I produced with the assistance of another student. Photographs are taken from my university group's tutorials and study sessions. The special musculoskeletal tests studied in class are demonstrated by some of the open source videos which I watched when revising for my exams.

The principles of musculo-skeletal assesment which we discussed in class are evidenced not only in these tests , but also in the assesment profile which I devised early in the first term. Indeed in this portfolio, the case studies upon which we were examined on at the end of semester one are discussed in full detail. Each one can be downloaded as an word file.

The main resources which I used throughout this module are detailed at the end of this portfolio. I hope to add to this porfolio during my time at Northumbria. Musculoskeltal work remains the core of my interest in physiotherapy. I hope by the time I leave university that this resource will provide evidence of a developed understanding of musculoskeltal physiotherapy.
